The myth of the empty vessel
Somewhere along the way, caring got described as pouring: pour into your children, your family, your friends — everyone who needs you. And when you have nothing left, you're told you should have filled your cup.
But you were never meant to be a vessel that empties. Whether you're a mother, a sister, or the one everyone calls first, you are a person who tires — who needs rest the way every person needs rest, not as a reward for finishing the list, but as a part of being alive.
So this week, try replacing 'I just need to get through it' with 'I'm allowed to stop here.' Not because everything is done. Because you are not a cup.
Take this one with you.
